David Fincher, he of Se7en, Fight Club, and Zodiac fame has reteamed with Rooney Mara, the leading lady of his Girl With the Dragon Tattoo remake. Fans of the Millennium trilogy (of which Dragon Tattoo was the first chapter) must be sad to see the collaboration is no more than a perfume commercial, but we found enough to like.
The new perfume in question is “Downtown” by Calvin Klein, a fragrance designed for women. Although the ad does little more than give Rooney Mara a chance to show off every facial expression she masters, the end result is moody, stylish and features Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Runaway. Win!
